Homework for 12/21 - 1/4

I have distributed the vacation homework packet today for completion between now and when we return from vacation.  There are 9 pages to work on in the packet.  My preference would be to have the students do a page or two at a time, and not all in one shot, so they keep their mathematical minds working during the break on a more regular basis.  Have a great vacation!

Be well,

Mr. Hostash

What you need to do:
1)     Using your weather log, select 3 items to graph on the graph paper provided (you may get poster board or something larger to present the data if you choose).
2)    On the graph paper, label the “X” axis with the date and the “Y” axis with the item you are graphing (example: temperature, humidity, wind speed, barometric pressure, etc).  You will need two sheets of graph paper to log each item.
3)    Graph all 30 days information on the graph paper to represent the 3 items you have selected to graph.
4)    Using a ruler or other straight edge, connect all the points

February 12 to February 22 Vacation Homework

I have given the students a packet of work to be done over the vacation.  They should have marked some of the problems in their packet with a highlighter or circle.  These problems are on topics we have not covered completely this year.  I would like the students to attempt these problems, with your help if practical.  I will only be grading those problems on a basis of effort, meaning they tried on some level to solve them.  I will not be taking off points if they are incorrect.

The homework for tonight is a multiplying fractions worksheet with 6 questions.  The worksheet asks students to draw a model representation of the problem presented.  This is often a skill the students struggle with initially, so please do not get overly concerned if your child has a difficult time with the model drawings tonight.
